We hope to start building during the first quarter of 2013. The build will be overseen by Mary, the SOH staff, and Venture Corps members who plan to travel to Kenya during this time.
The land has been
purchased, but the
new orphanage
building needs to be
designed. We will hire
an architect who will
work closely with Mary
to design the new
building.
We are setting an ambitious goal for this campaign. We plan to raise around $75,000 to fund the project. This will pay for the construction of the building, the completion of the well, and all necessary supplies.
introduction
Springs of Hope is a registered Charitable Childrens Institution whose major goal is to restore hope to Orphans and Other Children made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS through a comprehensive and compassionate approach that enhances the survival and development of the child into responsible adulthood. The institution admits children who are abandoned, abused, have endured severe forms of child neglect, have been orphaned, or suffer from physical and mental handicaps.
Admission age: 0-4yrs both boys and girls regardless of their HIV status.
Since inception of the Institution it has processed 89 children, some of whom have been discharged to their relatives, fostered, adopted, transferred to other Children's Institutions, as well as two deaths.
The Institution currently has 50 children with the oldest being 9 years of age. All admissions are referrals from the Police, Court, or the Children's Officer.
Background
To address the needs of children in desperate crises in a more comprehensive and focused approach Eagles Fountains opened the rescue center, Springs of Hope, and received the first two children on 17 th in August 2005.
The main founder of the institution is Mary Wangui Musyoka and her family.
As a career nurse, Sunday School Teacher and mother, she has a passion and call to serve the needy children and adequate experience in child health care.
Through the support of friends and family Springs was born with the core mission of restoring hope to children in desperate crisis, tap their potential and equip them to soar like eagles.
goal
Our goal is to rescue, support and care for the children who are abandoned. Victims of gender-based sexual violence, severe forms of childneglect and abuse, destitute orphans and other children made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS(OVC). We want to rekindle their hopes, tap and sharpen their skills, and release their potential to enable them live a dignified and purposeful life.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to restore hope to the children who are most vulnerable and desperately in need of care and protection, through an integrated and compassionate approach, that enhances the survival and development of the child into a productive and fulfilled citizen.

- Facilitate emergency and subsequent medical treatment for the sexually and physically abused children through a scale-up of medical equipment supplies and staff to provide a one-stop service point and avoid further trauma to the child, referring only severe cases.
- Provide child play and development materials to enhance a child friendly environment that promotes child development and participation in their wellbeing and emotional security.

Springs of hope & venture corps
Mary Musyoka, native Kenyan, felt called to work with children as a young, teenage girl, even starting and leading Sunday Schools at various locations. She went on to become a registered nurse, marry and have 4 sons. At a point in time, God made it clear she was to invest her life in caring for orphans and bringing them up in the knowledge and love of Christ. This she has been doing faithfully for about six years now. She is highly respected in her community, and her institution has been publically recognized on several occasions by the community and the government.
When there are children in need, Springs of Hope is on the top of the call list, which is why overcrowding has become a serious issue. They are in a rented facility, and in the past couple of years have been able to purchase property in the hopes of building their own childrens home in the near future.
Venture Corps began their journey with Mary two years ago when Jeremy Mitchell did a two-week internship at Springs of Hope while his dad was doing a two-week course at nearby Scott Theological College. Upon returning home, they began to gather sponsors for the school-age children at Springs, and eventually teamed with Venture Corps to continue this ministry. Other Venture Corps members have since been able to visit Springs and get to know this amazing woman.
Mary has never had a salary and until our partnership, regular donors. Her familys own personal finances have been the primary support. Our desire is to help her build the childrens home and to continue to grow individual sponsorship for the children.
